Authentic Pilates Niagara was created to share my passion of how pilates can change lives.

At Authentic Pilates Niagara we stay as true to Joseph Pilates’ originally named ‘Pilates Method of Body Conditioning’ or ‘Contrology’,which originated in 1902. Every client who walks into Authentic Pilates Niagara leaves stronger, more confident, and inspired. We use the most authentic equipment conceived by Mr. Pilates and manufactured by GRATZ®, to help ensure the pilates movements he crafted and taught, are as close to his intentions of ‘strength with stretch and control’. I am committed to offering consistent, challenging, life-changing workouts that honour each body and celebrate real, sustainable progress.

About Authentic Pilates Niagara

Authentic Pilates Niagara is a boutique/classical Pilates studio located in the heart of Old Town, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario Canada

The studio at APN offers classical Mat and apparatus-based Pilates: Mat work, Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Wunda Chair (and other classical apparatus) — adhering to the classical Pilates repertoire.

Classes are offered in various formats: private sessions, semi-private equipment classes, and group mat classes. We welcome students of all ages over 18, and very much including seniors.

My teaching emphasizes the classical Pilates method/system, which can include: focus on breath with movement, alignment, powerhouse connection and strength, concentration, symmetry, stretch with strength and control — staying as true to the original method developed by Joseph Pilates.

The studio is a welcoming, supportive, and high-quality environment: small classes and private sessions help ensure proper form, individualized feedback, and attention to each person’s needs and goals.

In short: here at Authentic Pilates Niagara, you’ll be moving and learning in a classical, high-integrity Pilates studio, with a personalized, curated atmosphere.  No music, no neon lights, just pure Gratz® apparatus and honest energy. 

Instructor Laura Lynn

Laura Lynn is your Pilates teacher at Authentic Pilates Niagara and is dedicated to the authentic classical method AS created & intended by Joseph Pilates.

Laura’s teaching style emphasizes precision, flow, and mindful movement, guiding clients through the classical system to develop strength, flexibility, and deeper body awareness.

Her goal is to move people (YOU!) from their  “I can’t…” to “I can!” by guiding you through a Pilates movement practice utilizing the full system of classical Pilates equipment, with expertise and compassion, so that you leave feeling stronger, resilient and empowered.

Through her classes — whether private, semi-private, or group mat sessions — you’ll feel the moments of reconnecting with your body: building full body strength, improving posture, improving mobility, breath control, increased body awareness and flexibility, alignment, and general overall uplifting of spirit. After all, Joseph Pilates touted his method was for body, mind and spirit. 

The studio structure (private, semi-private, small-group) focuses on working to ensure quality over quantity: it’s a place where people feel truly seen, supported, and capable of more than they imagined.

You’ll receive individualized cues and support, no matter what level you are working at (beginners to more advanced)- you are met exactly where you are at. 

You can expect from Laura a classical Pilates experience — staying true to the roots and traditional method of Pilates, while focusing on helping you rediscover your strength and vitality through the classical Pilates method, rather than a high-intensity or fitness-trend style Pilates version.
