Class Descriptions

PRIVATE SESSIONS:

Work one-on-one (Private) or with a friend or family (Duo), to fully enjoy the Classical Pilates method using all of the Equipment in our studio.

Private sessions are a perfect way to help with any physical injuries that may inhibit you from participating in Semi Private groups, or that you may be trying to strengthen or find better function of movement.

As well, you’ll get ALL of the personal attention to detail during your session, to kick things up a notch (or.. if you prefer, to work on particular exercises or areas of interest for you).

Suitable for all ages & abilities, from beginner to advanced participants, you’ll get customized sessions that are tailored to your goals and needs.
Private sessions are required for all new participants to Pilates, to help assess and offer any variations that might be helpful for the participant when entering group classes — these are not mandatory ongoing, but the most effective way to get the most out of your workouts.

Your Private Sessions are 50 minutes in length. 

FOUNDATIONS FOCUS:

• This is a 5 week series that has you coming to class 1x per week (or 2x per week if you’re really excited *subject to availability*) for 5 weeks.
•Foundations Focus is a great way to start your journey here at Authentic Pilates Niagara. If you’re new to pilates, to movement, this studio OR if you’re unable to do the INTRO 3 Pack…as well, if you prefer working out with others, it’s a fun way to get started.
• Each class has a limit of 3 people, and, this is why the classes are called Semi Private Equipment classes.🙌
• You’ll be exercising on the Reformer, the Tower/Cadillac, the Wunda Chair and other equipment in the studio, as you cover the Foundations/Basic exercises of the authentic pilates method. We progress accordingly and safely and I always verbally cue and give tactile cueing for each individual — because every body is different 🌟 Working with the equipment will help progress your strength, mobility, flexibility and balance and control more succinctly. Basic Homework exercises can be given to bridge the gap between classes – & always makes progressive achievements happen efficiently.
Best way to do this?? — (A) Email me to find out if there are availabilities in any of the Foundations classes. *These might not show up on the schedule* (B) Upon my response, Purchase the Semi Private Equipment 10 Pack to use. *The 10 Packs will be available to use for longer than the 5 weeks though, and can help you transition from the 5 weeks into all of the other regularly scheduled classes.

SEMI PRIVATE EQUIPMENT GROUP:

Semi Private Equipment groups are bespoke classes of 3 people Max — so you’re getting maximum attention for you, along with the fun and community of a class feel.  You’ll be using the Reformer, Cadillac/Tower,  Wunda Chair, barrels and the Mat and accessories.   Most likely not ALL of those within the same class, however, the Authentic Classical Pilates system is built to utilize this equipment to assist you or challenge you, depending on your needs and goals, to further your progression in strength, flexibility and overall balance.  So some classes will be using more than just 1 piece of equipment.  Variety is the spice of life!

The Semi Private Equipment groups are 50 minutes in length. 

  • These groups are appropriate for non-injured students who have attended 3 or more Private sessions and/or are approved to join the classes.  

MAT CLASS:

Pilates Mat is an integral part of the Pilates system and is considered a skeleton of the work (along with the Reformer), to fully be able to reap the benefits of the Pilates Method. 

It is what Mr. Pilates envisioned could be done daily, for anyone, anywhere … everyday, to continue receiving the benefits for our truest potential and health.

We have 30 minute and 50 minute mat classes. These might include the use of props such as the Magic Circle, the pole, light hand-weights, 2×4 or even the Toe Corrector or Foot Corrector.  There are lots of ways to deepen your practice with these props for your matwork.
